Why this is design
This project uses design principles to transform a fragmented problem into a practical support system. We mapped the needs of children, parents, teachers and healthcare staff, developed user-oriented materials, simplified complex medical information and created a model that can be implemented in different educational settings.
Piloted in practice
The model was first tested through a pilot program for teenagers with Type 1 Diabetes, built around independence, leadership and peer confidence — proof that the system works beyond a single classroom.
